WC Verden: Top quality among five-year-olds
What top quality during the qualification for the five-year-olds at the FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Verden today. Straight from the very first starter – which was Franka Loos with Las Vegas (v. Ferdeaux) – the fight was on: she left the arena with an impressive score of 91.800%. With a 9.5 for the canter and so called ‘perspective’ (i.e. overall impression or natural predisposition), she put the bar high for thirty-eight combinations to follow after her.
However, Loose’s challenge proved to be no problem for the second starter Eva Möller and the Oldenburger-stallion Global Player Old (v. Grand Galaxy Win). The stallion has a beautiful canter with a lot of balance, which the team of judges (consisting of Susanne Baarup, Sharon Rhode, Maria Colliander and Elke Ebert) gave a 9.6. The combination ended up with a total of 95.000% in a the third place.
The mare Lightning Star (v. Ferguson), under the saddle of Kirsten Brouwer ,showed a lot of impulsion in the trot and huge will to work. They came to a beautiful score of 95.200% and went in the lead for a long time, but finally ended in second place.
Today certainly seemed to be the day of Eva Möller. With her second horse in this class, the Hannoverian-stallion Danciero 7 (v. Dancier), she eventually won the qualification. With a 10.0 for the canter, a 9.8 for ‘perspective’ and three 9.5’s, they were the winners of today.
The best twelve combinations from today are going straight to the Final this Sunday. The other combinations are riding the Small Final tomorrow. The best three combinations from the Small Final are also allegeable to ride in Sunday’s Final.
