Dutch Young Riders win gold at Oliva Nova

The Dutch team of Young Riders has been crowned champion at the FEI Dressage European Championships 2021 for Children, Juniors & Young Riders in Oliva Nova. The Dutch riders, consisting of Marten Luiten and Wynona (v. Ampere), Thalia Rockx and Golden Dancer de la Fazenda (v. Bretton Woods), Milou Dees and Francesco (v. Florencio 2) and Quinty Vossers and Hummer (v. Charmeur) were supreme under the Spanisch Sun.

A proud chef d’equipe Monique Peutz said to the Dutch federation: “I knew we were here with a strong team of Young Riders, but it all still has to happen in the ring. That certainly worked out, because I regularly had goosebumps. They way they sit on their horse, finish their tests and know what to do in the ring; that brings tears to my eyes.”

The German Young Riders – Luca Sophia Collin with Descolari (v. Desperados), Helena Schmitz-Morkramer with DSP Lifestyle (v. Lord Fantastic), Anna Middelberg with Blickfang HC (v. Belissimo) and Elisabeth von Wulffen with Fiesta Bonita (v. For Compliment) – take silver in this championship.

Bronze goes home with Denmark – Sara Hyrm and Skovborgs Romadinov (v. Blue Hors Romanov), Laura Jarlkvist Rasmussen and Aatoftens Dornier (v. De Noir 3), Sofie K. Hansen and Dieu d’ Amour 3 (v. Dimaggio) and Victoria Cecilie Bonefeld Dahl with Comtesse (v. Caprimond).

Marten Luiten and Fynona (v. Ampere) were unanimously placed at number one by the jury and ended up with the highest score of 77,677%. On the canter half pirouette they even scored a ten twice!
