Sightseeing Omaha City: From Billy the Kid to Pinballs
Next to all the horsepower, there was some time left to get to know Omaha City. We found the best hotspots in town, and the most important, the best coffee in town. It’s hard to find a tasty coffee in the USA, especially something else than a Starbucks. But luckily, we did.
Omaha by night felt like a fairytale. Once upon a time… the World Cup Final turns the city in a real horse town. We only missed the handsome cowboys. But there were carriage horses instead.
In the middle of Nebraska, or actually close to the border of Iowa, the FEI World Cup Finals are held in the CHI Health Center of Omaha. In Nebraska’s biggest city there are living around 500.000 people. The state is, in the equestrian business, mostly known because of the rodeo and western. Though, they held the FEI World Cup Finals once before, back in the days of 2017.
Downtown Omaha is very cool. The Old Market area has lots of fancy shops, and when strolling around we wouldn’t surprise to run into Billy the Kid. Leanjo enjoyed his time at the Hollywood Pinball Musea, and Monique just loved the cappuccino at Godega Market. When you are in need of new clothing in country style, you are in the right place as well.
Perhaps needless to say, but the pictures below aren’t Leanjo’s art 😉 We enjoyed every minute of the World Cup Finals in Omaha, but honestly it isn’t for everyone. Maybe this is a bit of an insiders joke.
