These are the rookies of the FEI World Cup Finals
Next to the golden oldies there are a few rookies who came to the USA, to hopefully, rock the World Cup Finals. We looked them up and will introduce them to you. Hold your horses!
The just 18-years-old American Elisa Broz is for sure the new kid on the block. She is the youngest participant of all, and she is ready to rumble with Kardenta van ‘t Meerhof. As because of her age, she did not compete in senior championships before.
Also the Swedish Wilma Hellström makes her debut at a senior championship. Did you know that her horse, the beautiful grey Cici BJN, has got just one eye? Next in line to step on to the big stage of an international championship for the first time are: Ailish Cunniffe, Simone Berg, Nicholas Dello Joio, Natalie Dean, Moufi Owaida Al Karbi and the Australian Samual Overton.
Then there are quite a few riders who have got the experience of international championships, but who are attending the World Cup Finals for the first time: Richard Vogel, Eryn Ballard, Victoria Gulliksen, Andreas Schou, Daniel Bluman, Daniel Coyle, Donatas Janciauskas, Shk. Ali Jmal Nasr Al Nuami and Nurjon Tuyakbaev. What will the Final bring them besides lots of experience?
And of course, there are some dressage riders new on the World Cup stage as well. The Swedish Johanna due Boje has participate in some Youth Championships but made her debut at an international championship today. Just like Alice Tarjan, a 44-years-old American rider.
Four dressage riders are World Cup Finalists for the first time: the Dutch Marieke van der Putten, the Belgian Jorinde Verwimp, Caroline Chew from Singapore and the Australian Simone Pearce. Jorinde Verwimp is the youngest dressage rider of the field, but she already managed to compete at the Olympics. So talking about experience.. Too bad, debutant Dinja van Liere had to withdraw just before the Grand Prix. She was one of the favorites for the title, even in her first final.
