Dirk’s Favourite: Maikel and Tokyo’s stunning obstacles

During these 2020 Olympics, our Belgian colleague Dirk Caremans keeps us up to date on all that’s happening in and around the Tokyo Equestrian Village, completing our news articles with his fantastic photographs. In addition, Dirk provides us with a daily update sharing his favourite photo of the day.

“Yesterday I didn’t want to do Maikel short, but then I couldn’t ignore the wonderful performance of the Dutch Warmblood Explosion W from breeder Willy Wijnen”, Dirk wrote to us. “That’s why today I decided to put Maikel in the spotlight, as well as to emphasise how beautiful the obstacles are here. Each and every day there’s something new to discover. We hadn’t seen this lady in red before! I’m curious to find out what course builders Santiago Varela and Louis Konickx will surprise us with tomorrow!”
